About me

I am a Delhi based author who also produces visual narratives. My photography work has been exhibited extensively in the country including The India Habitat Centre, Delhi. My films have traveled to various festivals across the country. My film school education at AJK MCRC Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, led me to produce and analyze moving images. I went on to study Cinema Studies at School of Arts and Aesthetics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.

Apart from independent projects and research papers, I have been conducting workshops and lecturing students at Under Grad and Masters level on Film Studies, Documentary Production, Visual Arts, Photography, and Journalism. I have also been a faculty at various national and international universities including Delhi University and the State University of New York, Buffalo. My passion lies in study and creation of the Visual Form. One of my recent projects includes working on an exhibition on History of Indian Cinema: BD Garga Archives with Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts in the capacity of a consultant.

My key research areas of interest include scholarship on Cinema, Gender Studies, and History. Before moving to Cinema Studies, I have worked with leading media organizations including New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV), Cable News Network (CNN) and Indian Express Newspapers. I have also been a recipient of awards for excellence in academics as well as media production.
Apart from work, I like to read, travel, photograph and paint.
